“Students Safety at Minerva is our Priority – Say No to Ragging”
Ragging is neither a means of familiarization, nor an introduction with fresher’s, but a form of psychopathic behavior. Ragging is a violation of Human Rights. Ragging is a heinous crime and heavily punishable under the law. Ragging may spoil your career forever. It is our proud privilege to announce that, since from the establishment of Minerva College of Education in 2008 not even a single case of ragging has been reported in our college. However keeping in preview the incident of Aman Kachru ragging-to-death case in Himachal Pradesh and in compliance to the direction of Hon’ble Supreme Court in the year 2009, an anti-ragging cell was constituted at Minerva College of Education with the joint efforts of College administration, faculty and students.
Anti ragging Cell at Minerva College of Education shall take necessary steps to sensitize pupil teachers, parents, authorities about the gravity of ragging. This may be done with the help of audio-visuals, electronic and print mediums. Posters, banners and pamphlets highlighting the menace of ragging and its serious consequences shall be pasted on conspicuous places in the college premises.
On the other hand at the time of admission every pupil teacher is required to submit two Affidavits on Rs. 10.00 stamp paper each, duly notarized, one signed by the student and the other signed by the parent as according to the guidelines of UGC. A pupil teacher shall not be admitted to the course unless the Affidavits are not submitted to the coordinator. Further at the time of admission pupil teachers are required to register themselves online on anti ragging portal developed by UGC anti ragging cell. A strong and rigid approach is followed by Anti ragging Cell at Minerva against ragging. Involvement in such kind of activities may results in
Cancellation of admission.
Suspension from attending classes.
Debarring from any test/examination or any other evaluation process
Collective punishment when individuals committing or abetting ragging are not identified.
Rigorous imprisonment and fine up to Rs. 2.5 lakhs as per Law.
