GUIDANCE AND COUNSELLING SERVICES

As according to the guidelines of University Grant Commission (UGC), Guidance and Counseling Cell was established in the year 2010 to support our pupil teachers for their professional development and psychological well being. Here at Minerva College of Education Comprehensive guidance programs and services are scheduled by the guidance and counseling cell, with the objectives to equip our pupil teachers with required pedagogic knowledge, attitude and skills to become mature and responsible teachers in the coming future. The Guidance and Counseling cell of Minerva College of education aims to nurture the skills and potential of our pupil teachers through different activities that help them to inculcate positive values and competence required in the 21st century academic world. In order to facilitate and stimulate the growth of our pupil teachers different workshops, talks and different programs on collective and individual basis are also organized by this cell.

Objectives of Guidance and Counseling Cell:

  1. The very first objective of the Guidance and counseling cell at Minerva College of education is to nurture and stimulate the Pedagogic Skills required for professional Academic world.
  2. Second, to help our pupil teachers to overcome the linguistic and technological barriers by exposing them to new technological trends and communication skills
  3. Third, to provide best placement opportunities to our pupil teachers keeping in view their pedagogic skills and potentials.
  4. Fourth, to help our pupil teachers to overcome the personal and professional adjustment problems inside and outside the campus
  5. Fifth, to motivate our pupil teachers to develop positive attitude and socially acceptable values towards teaching profession.

VARIOUS ACTIVITIES CONDUCTED BY THE CELL

  1. Organization of individual and group guidance programs that may helps our pupil teachers to overcome the barriers in professional development.
  2. Organization of workshop and seminar-based different pedagogic strategies, which stimulate and nurture the teaching competence of our pupil teachers.
  3. Implementation of stress management tools and techniques that may helps them to encounter the current problems or stressors and also enables them to cope up with future adjustment problems.
  4. Guidance services for placement and professional development
  5. Guidance services for financial benefits (Through schemes and programs sponsored by the state and the centre government).
  6. Guidance programs for advance or higher studies and skill development.
